Photography has an amazing power to preserve special moments, as well as invoke long forgotten memories of people, places and other times in our lives.
I started learning about photography as a hobby way back in my uni days at Canberra University.
Fast forward 10 (ish!) years and I’m now a mother of four young, beautiful and inspiring children. It’s because of them that I’ve been able to turn my love of photography into a successful business and create beautiful visual memories for others.
After becoming parents, my husband and I left the city life of Canberra and returned to his hometown, Griffith, in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia. It’s a fabulous place to raise a family, with a strong arts community, fabulous food and wine, as well as a big sky and beautiful natural light to incorporate into my work.
I specialise in newborn photography, it is the part of my job I adore the most.
Photographing newborns and capturing their absolute purity is a truly special way to welcome these new and beautiful souls into the world. They have such grace and perfection.
I have witnessed with my own little ones, the way time seems to speed up once you have children – they change and grow so quickly. Photographs let us go back and relive those times, and have an incredible power to invoke strong emotions in all of us.
Capturing the essence of each little one, whether they are 5 days old or 5 years old is a true joy for me. I also love candid family sessions, couples and pregnancy photography. The connections between families are beautiful at all stages; they all have their own story, their own journey and I’m honoured to preserve a slice of that for them forever.
Having been a primary school teacher for over 8 years and a mother of four, I have a great deal of patience and have no problems in working with all age groups and temperaments (even those of adults!) I work closely with my clients to ensure that I fully understand their needs and meet them.
Since launching the original business in 2009, I’ve photographed many families and am thrilled to have been accepted as a certified member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) in 2012 – the leading professional body for photography in Australia.
In 2014 I won a silver award at the AIPP Australian Professional Photography Awards.
I also held my first solo exhibition, ‘Daughters’ in Griffith in early 2012, which was well received by the community, and was the 2010 People’s Choice Winner of the Exposed Arts Festival.
